What Are The Different Types of Care?

At Lovett Care, we provide a number of services in our eight care homes situated from the English Midlands to Wales regions. Most people are aware of some of our services but do you know the other types of care?

We have put together this article explaining the different types of care we provide:

Dementia Care

Catering for people dealing with dementia. Residents settle into one of our care homes following a decline in their condition. We understand how difficult this time is for families, and we provide full support to their families during this period. We deliver training and support to our dementia care team, ensuring they’re regularly updated and properly trained to perform the best effective care.

Nursing Care

For people who need 24-hour care or are recovering from a serious injury or illness. This service also caters for people with long-term conditions and requires continuous observation. Each resident has a personalised and monitored care plan. We consult with you first to make sure you understand the methods we carry out to meet and reach your expectations. At Lovett Care, our residents have access to:

  • 24/7 care from a team of qualified and registered nurses.
  • Regular check-ins and observation by experienced nurses
  • Clean, comfortable and ‘home from home’ environment
  • Physical assistance and support
  • Management of medications
  • Daily nutritious meals

Residential Care

Also known as personal care or assisted living, this type of care is generally for residents who are aged 65 or over and need assistance with their daily activities such as cooking, dressing, bathing, mobility and more. Our residential care service is carried out by a team of qualified and experienced carers. Residents, in particular people living alone, can benefit from still having their own independence but also, socialising with other residents in a safe environment.

Palliative Care

For people dealing with more intense medical needs and living with life-limiting conditions. We understand this is a difficult time for residents and their families. We focus on promoting good quality of life and highest standards of care and support, ensuring residents are as comfortable as possible. Our palliative care team is there around the clock to deliver the best care for residents and provide support for their families.

Across our care homes, palliative care residents have access to:

  • 24/7 care from a team of qualified and registered nurses.
  • A friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
  • Support and assistance of physical, social, and emotional needs.
  • Regular check-ins and observation by our nurses.
  • Management of their medications.
  • Healthy meals and refreshments.

Respite Care

For individuals aged over 65 or carers who experience an accident, diagnosis of an illness, or a family emergency. Allows time for them to rest and recover from these tragic events. At Lovett Care, we offer one-to-one specialised care in the comfort of your home. We consult with you to fully understand the needs of every individual in order to perform high quality short term care. Respite care is also covered across other services including residential and dementia care.

Day Care

At each of our care homes, our day care service gives the opportunity for visitors to relax in a welcoming and sociable setting. This service can benefit senior individuals who live alone, feel lonely, and isolated from others. It involves individuals taking part in a carefully planned activity program including social events, time in our beautiful outdoor gardening space and more. This gives their families and carers a break from their caring duties and time for themselves while knowing their loved ones are in safe hands. Our team is available on hand to provide care and to meet their needs.
