Bradshaw Manor- Kitchen Assistant *30 Hours*
Job Purpose:
- Prepare all foods, as directed by the Chef
- Assist and execute various kitchen duties such as ensuring cleaning schedules are adhered to
- Assist in preparation and serving of all meals, in a timely manner
- Liaise with care team members and residents in a polite and person-centred way
Key Accountabilities:
- Under the supervision of the Chef, assist in identifying items to be ordered to ensure enough levels of supplies for catering operation from specified suppliers, using the homes procedures
- Operate an efficient stock control system
- Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately
- Prepare food items under the guidance of the chef Support the delivery and serving of food, if required
- Understand the specific diets identified as required by residents, and share any dietary concerns with the chef
- Be responsible for understanding Health and Safety requirements be clean, hygienic, and well always presented
- Any incidents or accidents to be reported to the chef, and appropriately recorded and actioned
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
- Completion of mandatory E-Learnings
- To embed and demonstrate our company values throughout your working day
Skills & Competencies:
- Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the team
- Work with the chef in a positive way, and be proactive in identifying duties that need to be completed
- Liaise and communicate effectively with care team members to understand the dietary needs of residents that use the service
- Be polite and respectful in any communication with the team, residents and or external visitors

- When interacting with residents, be person-centred, and promote respect and dignity
Qualifications:
- Approved Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate
- Good English Written and verbal
You will have:
- Experience of working in a care environment
- Experience in role applied for
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in a customer facing environment
- Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
- Knowledge of texture modified diets
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and personal responsibility
- Experience of working with kitchen equipment and appliances and
- understanding the risks involved
- Satisfactory DBS Check
