Job Purpose:
- Make up duty rotas for catering department, ensuring there are enough skilled team members on duty
- Under the supervision of the manager, order enough levels of supplies for the catering operation from specified suppliers, using the homes procedures and maintain strict control over costs
- Operate an efficient stock control system
- Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately. If any machine is felt to be dangerous, withdraw it from service immediately
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in the recruitment of the team
- Induct new starters in accordance with the homes policy
- Lead, motivate and direct team members
- Under supervision of the manager, carry out annual appraisals for catering team members
- Conduct team member supervision and personal development plans for catering team
- Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
- Completion of mandatory E-Learnings
- To embed and demonstrate our company values throughout your working day
Skills & Competencies:
- Team Player
- Reliable and punctual
- Ensure accurate, legible records are kept
- Ensure compliance with statutory and Lovett Care’s requirements on food hygiene, storage, and temperature control
- Ensure all catering ingredients and equipment is purchased within budgetary constraints
- Manage Waste Effectively
You will have:
- Experience of working in a care environment
- Experience in role applied for
- Experience of working with residents who have additional support needs
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Satisfactory DBS Check
