Twyford – Activities Coordinator
Job Purpose:
To develop and plan programs, outings, and events, staffing the events and overseeing the implementation of activities. Ensure the programme reflects the current population of the residents wishes and preferences. To support and enable residents to access social networks and maintain personal interests in accordance with best practice, agreed standards, legislation and within the financial budget. To maintain skills at a current level, undertake such training and development as required from time-to-time to maintain and progress knowledge.
Key Accountabilities:
- Organise and plan activity programmes reflecting residents’ preferences
- Produce a newsletter to inform residents and their relatives and friends what is going on
- Support residents to access internet and communication such as letter writing, Skype, and FaceTime
- Plan events within allocated budget
- Ensure residents are at the heart of events and programmes to enhance their wellbeing
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
- Complete daily reporting of activities and interaction into a resident’s plan of care
- Completion of mandatory E-Learnings
- To embed and demonstrate our company values throughout the day
Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership Skills – To encourage residents to attend or join an activity and motivate them, keep them engaged throughout events
- Communication Skills – To communicate with a variety of diverse groups, listen to their needs and able to work with large groups
- Problem Solving Skills – To be able to fix situations quickly or adjust activities for all involved.
- Proficient Computer Skills
Qualifications:
- Good English – Written and Verbal
- Valid driver’s licence
You will have:
- Experience of working in a care environment
- Experience in role applied for
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Experience of working with people in particular those that may have additional support needs
- Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
- Knowledge of event planning, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and personal responsibility
- Satisfactory DBS Check
