September Activities and Events at Hilton House
Having a diverse programme of activities at Lovett Care is an important feature in the care programmes of our residents and the provision of residential and dementia care in Stoke on Trent. Therefore, this month we will be enjoying the following activity dates throughout September.
September Events at Hilton House Care Home
Friday 20th September – we will be attending a concert held by the pupils of Newcastle-Under -Lyme School at St Thomas Church as part the annual Music & Art Festival held in the local village of Penkhull.
Saturday 21st September – we will be hosting an ‘Afternoon Tea’ fund raising event in our upstairs dining room and we raised a total of £41. As it is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month we will be taking information, brochures and literature about dementia out to the local communities whilst we are out and about. These will include our Church visits and our monthly pub outing. We hope to educate and enlighten local businesses and organisations to become more dementia friendly.
Monday 23rd September – Hilton House visited Swan Bank Church for a choir service.
Tuesday 24th September – Residents will go out to enjoy a pub lunch at The Britannia Pub in Bradwell.
Friday 27st September – we will be holding a ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’ fund raising event as part of their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.’
Monday 30th September – we will be holding a taster session for our residents in preparation for the winter menus.
Regular Monthly Events include:
Every other Sunday residents from Hilton House go to St. Thomas Church in Penkhull for the Morning Service.
Every other Saturday there is Prize Bingo.
For this month’s cinema room event we will be showing ‘Katherine Jenkins in Hyde Park’ (we hold a movie event every month in our cinema room).
On Friday we hold a coffee morning in the main lounge, all families and visitors welcome to join & a residents meeting is combined into the coffee morning once a month.
Finally, there is always a list of daily activities ranging from dominoes, stroll out club, jigsaw club, flower arranging, ball games, hand and nails care, arts and crafts, baking and much more and are displayed daily on our noticeboards.
The Importance of Being Part of the Community in Stoke on Trent
Lovett Care homes in Stoke on Trent recognise the importance of engaging and interacting with the wider community. A regular programme of activities gives residents and staff key events to look forward to. Music, singing and enjoying meals and coffee mornings together is proven to create bonds and friendships and is also recognised as helping to slow the onset and progression of dementia. We like to keep our residents at Hilton House active and stimulated as part of a carefully considered programme as part of life at our care homes. Please contact us to find out more.
