Manchester care home awarded groundbreaking NHS accreditation
Our care home in Whitefield, Manchester, has achieved the NHS SWAN Model accreditation
Regency Care Home is one of only two care homes in the North West to achieve this status.
The NHS SWAN Model of End-of-Life Care was introduced to provide a framework to support residents and their loved ones during end-of-life care, and afterwards.
SWAN, which stands for Sign, Word, Action, Need are the key components of the model, giving carers, residents and families the steps and guidance they need to provide the best end-of-life care.
Regency Care Home, situated on Lily Hill Street in Whitefield, was audited by the NHS earlier this year before being awarded the Swan Symbol.
This coveted symbol shows that Regency Care Home offers advance care planning and will do everything they possibly can for their residents at the end of their lives. The accreditation gives the care home the tools to make personalised plans and fulfil the needs of the resident and their families.
The SWAN certificate was proudly received by Regency Care Home, a beautifully furnished care facility located between central Manchester and Bury.
Nichola Birkett, Senior General Manager at Regency Care Home said,
“It is a privilege to look after someone at the end of their life, and we want to ensure that every wish is possible at Regency Care Home. We’re passionate about providing the best end-of-life care, and the SWAN Model reassures our residents and families that they will be treated with dignity and compassion.”
