Let’s Get Crafty!
Here at Charlotte House, our residents spent the day getting a little crafty! We tried our best to keep the glue away, but sometimes you just have to get a bit messy! And what fun we had with it!
Giant Ice Creams
In honour of all the luscious weather we have been seeing lately, the residents got to work on creating some giant ice creams for us to put up around the home. We have to admit some of them looked good enough to eat!
They were made using a lot of coloured tissue paper, a spot of glue, a heap of cardboard, and a whole host of creativity and imagination! The residents even made sure their favourites were represented in the collection, including a FAB, a rocket lolly and even a classic 99 (we think they ate the flake).
Crafts All Round
While the ice creams kept most people occupied for the craft day, some residents had their sights on something a little messier. If you’ve been into the home recently you will have seen a collection of paintings from our residents. Well, a few residents wanted to add to this, so of course, we had to let them. We might have joined in for a while too! While we are not as talented as Van Gough, there are still some pretty pieces in the mix!
Getting Active
We know that keeping our residents active is key to having them enjoy their time here. That’s why we have daily activities, such as arts and crafts, for them to join in with. Some days we enjoy a little bit of sport, we’ve even had a crazy golf course some days, to a spot of light yoga (don’t worry, we kept it light, no cobras here)!
For those looking to keep their brains more active, we hold regular quizzes and interactive mind games! There’s certainly something for everyone and every ability.
Activities
Our activities coordinators work through a range of activities that can get all of our residents involved. So if you have any ideas on what your loved ones and their friends can get up to, give us a shout! We would love some new great ideas!
If you or your loved one is interested in taking a tour around Charlotte House, we would love to hear from you. Our team is on hand to answer any questions you may have about living in Charlotte House or even just coming to stay for some respite.
