Glyn Jones – Singer – 9th August

Professional singer Glyn Jones from Stoke-on-Trent will be joining us at Hilton House Care Home to entertain the residents by performing classic popular songs from across the decades. His repertoire includes tunes from the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s with a few more contemporary songs where appropriate.

As part of a line-up of regular visiting musicians and entertainers we have found that songs and music is recognisable and connects with everyone, even if they have advanced stages of dementia. Providing this type of entertainment and interaction is an important part of our dementia care programme. Helping to stimulate memories from earlier in a persons life and the joy and health benefits of having a good singalong makes these occasions something that everyone looks forward to.

With over 40 years of experience as a solo act and within bands, Glyn likes to interact with the audience during the performance and afterwards to build a rapport and encourage audience interaction. With songs by artists as diverse as The Beatles, Cliff Richards and The Shadows, Roy Orbison, The Eagles and The Kinks to name a few, there is something for all musical tastes in this afternoon performance.
