Autumn Activities at Lovett Care
October was packed with activities for fun, entertainment and raising money for good causes:
Autumn Activities
Saturday 12th October – Afternoon cinema event residents enjoyed popcorn & refreshments with the American Romantic Musical La La Land…..
Friday 18th October – Wear it Pink Day, we joined in with a day of wearing pink to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we all like to do our bit for good causes here at Lovett Care. Donations for this cause will be taken at Hilton House. We also held a raffle for this event for a Chocolate Surprise Prize. This was kindly made and donated by a staff member Louise. We raised a fantastic £64 with all contributions going to support the efforts of the Breast Cancer now charity which has raised over £33 million to date.
Tuesday 22nd October – Residents enjoyed the monthly outing for a Pub Lunch
Friday 25th October – Some residents attended an annual Tea Dance event at The Performing Arts Centre at Newcastle-Under-Lyme College. Performing arts students performed a production featuring music and dancing from the 1940’s as afternoon entertainment for residents at their theatre on campus. We have a long-standing relationship with the college which helps to provide the new generation of carers and health workers with valuable experience to complement their studies. Residents are invited to specially organised events by the students and they also visit Lovett Care homes to gain practical experience within a care home environment.
We are currently taking any donations for Stoke-on-Trent Food bank this harvest and a donation box is located in the reception.
Tuesday 29th October – Swan Bank Church presented a Harvest Choir Service and we collected donations for the food bank from Hilton House. We are very happy to say that this collection donated 17.6kg of food for Stoke on Trent food bank to help feed hungry people in our city.
Monday 11th November – Swan Bank Church – The minister and her choir held a special Remembrance Service at Hilton House.
Friday 15th November – We held our fortnightly Coffee Morning and proudly supporting Children in Need. Why not join us for a coffee morning and enjoy a coffee & cake?
